Electrify NZ is bringing Crussis to New Zealand this spring. These are the first Crussis bikes to land in the country, and we're one of the first retailers stocking them — arriving at an interesting moment for electric mountain biking.
Crussis is a Czech manufacturer that's been building e-bikes since 2013. Founded by Petr Vůkruta, the company started as a small team of cycling enthusiasts and grew into one of Europe's more serious eMTB producers, with a purpose-built production facility outside Prague. They're not a brand that appeared overnight. Over a decade of European trail riding has shaped how they design frames, select components, and tune ride feel.
The 2026 range represents a significant step forward for Crussis. In 2025, they began working with Michal Prokop, a three-time MTB World Champion, on the development of their new e-bike models. Prokop isn't a name most Kiwi riders will recognise, but in European mountain biking, he's a serious figure, and his input shows in how the 2026 bikes are set up for technical terrain. The bikes are built around the Avinox M2S, a drive system that sits well outside what most eMTB motors deliver, and paired throughout with FOX suspension, SRAM drivetrains and brakes, and Maxxis tyres.
The Avinox M2S Drive System
Most mid-drive eMTB motors top out at around 85 to 90 Nm of torque. The Avinox M2S puts out 130 Nm in standard modes and 150 Nm in Boost, with a maximum power output of 1,300W from a motor that weighs 2.6 kg. Boost mode delivers full torque for up to 30 seconds, useful on steep climbs and technical obstacles. Five assist modes cover the rest, from long-range efficiency through to full trail aggression.
The 800 Wh battery gives a claimed range of up to 157 km. GaN fast charging takes it from flat to 75% in around 90 minutes, and to 100% in just under two and a half hours. A colour OLED display, wireless Bluetooth controllers, and a companion app let you customise how the system responds across each mode.
